PrEP & PEP in Surat Thani, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan: How to Get It
At Dr. Kris Clinic in Surat Thani you can get PrEP and PEP after a doctor's assessment, in person or online. Here is how it works, what tests you need, and what to do right away after a risk.
Get PrEP and PEP at Dr. Kris Clinic, Surat Thani (Talad 44, Soi Setthaphakdi), or through an online consultation with delivery across Thailand. English spoken.
A doctor's assessment and an HIV test are required first. PrEP also needs kidney and hepatitis B tests.
PEP must start within 72 hours, the sooner the better. If you are on an island or it is outside clinic hours, go to the nearest hospital emergency department now. Do not wait for delivery.
Two of the most common messages I receive on LINE are “Where can I get PrEP near Samui?” and “The condom broke last night, what do I do?” This page answers both as directly as possible.

Getting PrEP, step by step

Tests before starting: HIV, kidney function and hepatitis B
Medicine: collect at the clinic or have it delivered
Follow-up every 3 months: HIV and other STI testing, then continue
Had a risk? What to do about PEP
PEP is a 28-day course of HIV medicine after a possible exposure, such as a broken condom or sex without a condom with someone of unknown status. It must start within 72 hours, and the sooner the better.
In Surat Thani town during opening hours: message LINE @dr.krisclinic or call +66 66 159 4247 before coming, so we can confirm medicine is available
On Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Koh Tao, or outside our hours: go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away. Do not wait for a delivery; time matters
Once you have started, we can take over follow-up and repeat testing, in person or online
After 72 hours PEP is not recommended, but testing and a prevention plan still matter. See Just had an HIV exposure?
Why see a doctor first?
Taking PrEP with an undiagnosed HIV infection can cause drug resistance, so an HIV test always comes first
Some regimens are unsuitable with reduced kidney function or hepatitis B
