Want to start PrEP without queuing at a hospital? Where can you get it in Thailand, and how much does it cost each month?
One pill a day prevents HIV very effectively, but it has to be started properly. This page brings together prices, where to get PrEP and how online PrEP with a doctor works.
No online sales · every patient sees a doctor firstPrEP is a prescription medicine. Before starting, an HIV test must confirm you are HIV-negative and your kidney function must be checked. New patients start with a doctor consultation on LINE and sign up as a member so we can register your medical record. Existing patients can request a refill.
Quick summary
PrEP at our clinic starts at 1,290 THB for 30 tablets (Teno-EM), about 43 THB a day. If a doctor confirms 2-1-1 dosing suits you, each episode uses 4 tablets, about 172 THB.*
Thai nationals can get PrEP free under the national health scheme at participating services. Foreign nationals and tourists usually pay. (Free vs clinic PrEP compared)
A clinic suits people who want privacy, flexible times, care while travelling, or who have no Thai health coverage.
Online PrEP: consult a doctor on LINE → blood tests → prescription → discreet delivery anywhere in Thailand, with an HIV test every 3 months.
Never start PrEP without an HIV test first. Taking it with an undiagnosed infection can cause drug resistance.
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is an HIV medicine taken before possible exposure to prevent infection. Taken consistently, it lowers the risk of getting HIV from sex by about 99%, according to the CDC. Most people want three answers before starting: what it costs, where to get it, and whether they can get it without going to a hospital. (Basics: What is PrEP and who is it for)
PrEP price in Thailand: how much does it cost?
The price depends on the formulation and brand. All PrEP used in Thailand is quality-assured generic medicine registered with the Thai FDA, and the brands protect equally well (see Are PrEP brands different?).
* Prices shown are as of November 2026 and are not fixed; they may rise with inflation or higher medicine costs. Please confirm the latest price with our staff on LINE @dr.krisclinic.
Where we stand on price: at our clinic TAF-EM (TAF/FTC) costs the same as Teno-EM, 1,290 THB, while TAF-based PrEP elsewhere in Thailand is commonly around 1,500–1,800 THB a month. TAF is gentler on kidneys and bones, useful for long-term users when the doctor confirms it suits them.
Is 2-1-1 cheaper? If you have sex less often and a doctor confirms it suits you (TDF/FTC only, for men with anal-sex exposure), each episode uses 4 tablets. One bottle covers about 7 episodes, roughly 172 THB each. See On-demand PrEP (2-1-1).

Visitors to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Phuket or Bangkok usually cannot use Thailand’s free PrEP programme. You can consult our doctor in English, do the baseline tests locally, and have PrEP delivered to your hotel or address in Thailand. If you are travelling on, plan ahead: the doctor may consider a multi-month supply where appropriate.
Before you fly: test and collect your supply in Thailand.
Keep in touch on LINE for questions on missed doses, side effects or a possible exposure needing PEP.
Daily: one tablet at the same time each day, suitable for everyone. Full protection for anal sex after about 7 days, for vaginal sex after about 21 days.
2-1-1: 2 tablets 2–24 hours before sex, then 1 tablet 24 and 48 hours after the first dose. TDF/FTC only, for men with anal-sex exposure, after a doctor’s assessment.
PrEP does not prevent syphilis, gonorrhoea or chlamydia. Use condoms and test for STIs every 3 months; some people may benefit from Doxy-PEP.
Drug resistance: if you already have HIV without knowing it, PrEP (only two drugs) can lead to resistant virus, so an HIV test is required first.
Kidneys and bones: TDF needs kidney checks before starting and during use.
Hepatitis B: stopping PrEP on your own can trigger a hepatitis flare.
Fake or poorly stored medicine from unreliable sellers.
