On 13 January 2026, Dr. Krida Uakridathikarn was invited to speak at a workshop on developing guidelines for integrated male sexual health rehabilitation, organized by the Surat Thani Provincial Public Health Office in the Tubtim Room of the Diamond Plaza Hotel, Surat Thani. The workshop aimed to lay the foundations for men's sexual-health clinics within the province's health services.
At the heart of the talk was a holistic, patient-centred model of men's sexual-health care that integrates modern medicine with Thai traditional medicine. Dr. Kris took participants from the concept and practical steps of establishing a clinic within a real service system, through patient screening, to an understanding of common concerns: erectile dysfunction, premature and delayed ejaculation, how to distinguish vascular, hormonal and psychological causes, and the appropriate assessment of low testosterone.
One key tool he recommended was the PLISSIT model, proposed by Jack Annon in 1976. It is a four-level framework for talking about sexuality: Permission (creating a safe space to talk), Limited Information, Specific Suggestions tailored to the individual, and Intensive Therapy (referral for in-depth treatment). He paired it with the IIEF-5, a five-item questionnaire derived from the International Index of Erectile Function, to support screening, diagnosis and follow-up.
Throughout the session, Dr. Kris stressed that men's sexual-health care is not just about medication. It is about listening, understanding the context of a person's life, and providing holistic care without stigma. He thanked the organizers and fellow professionals for creating a shared learning space to raise the standard of men's sexual-health care in the public health system.
