On 22 October 2025, Dr. Krida Uakridathikarn took the stage at the National Conference of Family Medicine 2025 (NCFM 2025), hosted by the Royal College of Family Physicians of Thailand at the Amari Hotel in Bangkok, to speak on “Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy in Family Medicine: From Understanding to Affirmative Care”.
Held from 20 to 23 October 2025 under the theme “Cultivating Integrated Care Beyond Hospitals”, NCFM 2025 invited family physicians from across Thailand to look beyond hospital walls, towards communities and the realities of people's everyday lives.
Dr. Kris's talk addressed gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) in the family-medicine setting, from building understanding to delivering care that affirms each person's identity. It reflected the WPATH Standards of Care, Version 8, which emphasize individualized care, continuous follow-up, and the role of primary-care physicians in the holistic health of transgender and gender-diverse people.
His central message was that caring for transgender people is not only about hormones, but about understanding, dignity and equality, because a family physician cares for “the whole person”. Dr. Kris thanked the Royal College for opening a space for diversity and hope on a national academic stage.
